Distance / Climb / Grade: 12 miles, 1700′, fairly strenuous
Start time: 9.30 am.
Start location:Llyn Pendam parking area, grid ref SN 710839


Naturalist Red Liford, regular walks leader for CMS, will lead a walk which will include some of the finest features of the west side of the Cambrian Mountains. Starting at Llyn Pendam this is a 12 mile circuit including: Llyn Syfydrin, Bwlchystyllen, Cerrig Llwynog, Ochr Lwyd, Bwlch yr Adwy, Bwlch y Maen and Craig y Pistyll. You can plot the route quite easily on the OS Explorer Map 213.
There is a ¼ mile very steep descent on loose stones; also there is a ¼ mile steep ascent on a very narrow path with a steep drop to one side.

CMS WALKS

  • PARTICIPATION: Participants in these walks must be CMS members for insurance reasons. If you aren’t a member and would like to participate in a CMS walk, please visit the membership page, where you can join on-line, or print a membership form to bring along on the day, with your subscription payment, and give to a Society official.
  • WEATHER: will influence the nature of the walks and may necessitate changes. Please check with leaders beforehand if you have any queries. Suitable walking gear is essential. Bring a packed lunch and drink.
  • DOGS:  Because of livestock, dogs are not permitted on some walks – please contact leader in advance.  When dogs are permitted they should be kept on a lead unless the walk leader agrees otherwise.
